Today, more and more employees are working from home, and many companies are outsourcing projects to independent contractors. But with this migration, IT often has no control over the security of these remote computers and the threat of sensitive company data being stolen through hackers, laptop thieves, malicious software codes and other unauthorized individuals is costing businesses millions of dollars every year.

With Power LogOn® Manager, employees, executives and consultants needing to access company data from remote locations can use the same secure smartcard access system deployed in the office. Like Power Logon Administrator, Power LogOn Manager enables individuals to instantly access predetermined networks, files and web accounts by inserting their preprogrammed card and clicking on the accounts to be accessed.

How Power Logon works:

All passwords and access codes are stored onto the card and not on the computer or with the employee where they can be compromised. By providing an alternative to remembering multiple passwords to gain authorization, Power LogOn takes the burden off the employee and gives the organization a higher level of centralized control over remote data security.

With Power LogOn, the user has one PIN to remember to retrieve all of their access permissions. The individual smasrtcard and PIN provide a double, two-factor of authentication (something you have and something you know) (something the computer has and something the computer knows), two of the three primary authentication features. Biometrics can also be integrated with the cards to provide the final factor (the something you are). If the card is ever lost or stolen it will lock down the stored data after a limited number of incorrect authentications. IT can also revoke card access remotely, adding another layer of security.

The passwords and access codes programmed on the smartcard are Triple Data Encryption Standard (3DES), and the employee does not need to remember, type or even know their access information.  Compared to other encrypted data access technologies such as SSOs, OTPs and PKI, Power LogOn is affordable. It requires no back-end modification, no annual fees and recyclable user licenses. It can be deployed within minutes. Because the user interface of Power LogOn Manager is identical to that of Administrator no additional user training is required
